Bessborough Cricket Club was founded in 1908 and is located in Harrow, North West London. We are based in a secluded area of Headstone Manor Park next to the Harrow Heritage Centre. Our ground has three cricket pitches, two all weather practice nets and a fully functional clubhouse with a bar, Sky Sports TV and wireless broadband.
The 2012 season will see us field four league teams on a Saturday, with our 1st XI playing in the Middlesex Championship and 2nd XI playing in the Middlesex County Cricket League.
We also have a Sunday 1st XI who play in the Chess Valley League and a midweek Twenty20 side compete in the Cockspur Rum Twenty20 Competition as well as friendly matches against some of the local and touring club sides.
Bessborough CC also has one of the strongest colts setups in the whole of Middlesex which caters for young players aged 9 to 17.
In the winter months senior and colt teams play in Harrow Cricket Indoor Leagues, whilst other members compete in the local Cricketers Darts League.
Tuesday nights the club is open for socialising and other events, pool competitions, quiz nights etc. Social members and players of all standards are welcomed at this friendly club.
We are currently an ECB Clubmark accredited club. This is awarded to cricket clubs by the England and Wales Cricket Board when the cricket club is able to demonstrate that it meets the ECB Clubmark criteria across four areas:
- Duty of care and safeguarding children
- Cricket programmes the club offers
- Sports equity and ethics
- General club management
ECB Clubmark is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
