We are to mark the exact day of our Centenary with a Twenty20 match against our first opponents 100 years ago – Harrow St Mary’s. The match takes place on Friday May 23rd at our Headstone Manor ground and begins at 6pm. The club intends to do a BBQ and provide some musical entertainment for after the game. Centenary Chairman James Wheeler said “ It was always a plan of mine to mark the exact date of our centenary with an event of some kind. With the 23rd falling on a Friday it seemed the obvious idea to play a game in the evening. I approached Jay Patel and he was more than happy to commemorate the anniversary with a replay of our first game. ” More details will appear nearer the time. |

Welcome to Bessborough Cricket Club |

Welcome to the new Bessborough Cricket Club site. Apologies for the delay in updating the old site but we wanted to get this site right.
The club was established in 1908 and is based in a secluded area at Headstone Manor, North Harrow.
We currently run up to 4 Saturday, 2 Sunday teams and a Twenty20 midweek side. We also have a strong colts section which caters for age groups under 10's to under 17's. We also have an associated ladies section under the title of Headstone Manor Ladies.
Saturdays 3 teams participate in the Middlesex County League and Sundays the Slazenger Chess Valley League and friendlys. Traditionally we travel to South Wales first week in August to play 4 top teams, completing the tour at Lydney C.C., incidentally a fixture played for the last 25 years.
In the winter months senior and colt teams play in Harrow cricket indoor leagues, whilst other members compete in the local cricketers darts league. Tuesday nights the club is open for socialising and other events, pool competitions, quiz nights etc.
Social members and players of all standards are welcomed at this friendly club.

FEBRUARY UPDATE SOCIAL Firstly I would like to thank all the players, members and friends who came to January's Quiz night and helped raised some much valuable capital for the club. It was a great night and we are planning another quiz for later in the season. Next social event will be a Race Night in March. The details to follow. |

MCC to be part of our Centenary |

As part of the club's centenary celebrations next summer we have been honoured with a game against the MCC at Headstone Manor on July 23rd. The game is due to take place during the week and would include a Lunch. We were nominated by MCC captain and former Bessborough legend Graham Sainsbury who will lead the MCC side against us. There will also be a game between a current Bessborough side and a Bessborough Legends XI at some point during the season. The whole day will be for all players and members old and new to come back and celebrate a fantastic day. More dates and times will be posted on this website. |
