Peter Doole Member profile

Vice Captain : Peter Doole

Role: Left Handed Middle Order Batsman & Wicket Keeper
Nickname: Dooley
Barbarians No: 11

Dooley is the club’s senior pro and longest serving player after joining the Borough as colt in the 1960s. He has served the club with great distinction as a wicket-keeper for all 3 sides and served many roles for the club off the field including chairman.

He has been a stand out gloveman for the Borough in the last 35 years and set a standard that all Borough keepers have had to aspire too. His class is shown by ability standing up to the wickets and he still takes some blinding catches and stumpings for the third team.

As a batsman Dooley is particularly strong off the back foot especially behind point through offside. He has scored runs for Borough mainly in the middle to lower order but in recent seasons has batted even higher for the third eleven.

Dooley is a character both on and off field, his cheeky wit and banter on the field with his trademark panama and his story telling and jokes off the field make him a true Borough legend.

Satjeet Dhanjal Member profile Satjeet Dhanjal

Role: Right Handed MiddleOrder Batsman and Medium Fast Bowler
Nickname: Sat
Barbarians No: 27

Satjeet is another one of our group of young emerging allrounders that our Colts system has produced in recent years. He is a skiddy medium fast bowler who is quicker than he looks with his whippy action and he make makes the ball skid onto the bat a bit quicker than expected. Sat is also a good allround fielder.

He is a middle order batsman who scores quickly and he strikes a long ball. He needs to get stronger mentally and make better decisions on the cricket field as he occasionally gets a ‘brain rush’ and picks the wrong option, however he will learn this the more cricket he plays.

Sat scored a brilliant 49 in the Twenty20 Legends match in 2008 scoring runs all over the place impressing many of our returning players with his array of shots. Also he won the 2009 Captains Award for his commitment to the club.

Stephen Kimsey Member profile Stephen Kimsey

Role: Right Arm Medium Pace Bowler
Nickname: Junior
Barbarians No: 19

Steve joined the Borough in 2010 after playing against us for wandering side Paddington. He had just moved to the area and wanted to play some regular and competitive cricket. He is an up and coming bowler who bowls at no more than medium pace. He likes to bowl wicket to wicket with the keeper standing up. His style of bowling has proved very useful in the middle overs of a Twenty20 game.

He is no mug with the bat but generally finds himself batting 9, 10 or jack but he is capable of hitting a long ball. He is also a decent
outfielder with a good pair of hands.

Richard Ward Member profile Richard Ward

Role: Right Handed Middle Order Batsman & Slow Bowler
Nickname: Wardy
Barbarians No: 78

Wardy is as much improved middle order batsman for our Saturday third and fourth eleven and is also a useful slow-medium bowler. Wardy joined the club in 2007 after moving to London from the North East and he immediately set about making himself a vital member of the Borough.

Nobody works harder than Wardy in the nets all year round to improve his game and he has come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons. He is a tall man who is not afraid to give the ball a wack.

Also Wardy has taken on the role of club secretary in recent seasons and he is the leading man in driving the club on to bigger and better things off the field. He also loves a pint and can often be found propping up the bar into the early hours.

James Wheeler Member profile James Wheeler

Role: Right Handed Opening Batsman
Nickname: Wheels
Barbarians No: 16

A gritty top order batsman who usually plays in 2nd's and 3rd's on Saturday’s. During recent seasons he has started to bowl leg spin which he gave up in his early teens. Wheels also formed and runs our midweek twenty20 Friendly side the ' Bessborough Barbarians'.

He had an excellent 2012 season averaging over 40 in weekend cricket and with only a run of poor scores in Twenty20 cricket bringing his average below 30. In his final knock of the season he carried his bat scoring his second senior hundred with an innings of 105 not out against Bessborough Colts.

Wheels is predominately a front foot player who is very strong between point and extra cover. He loves to use his feet to all types of bowling and against spinners he looks to sweep or go inside out over the covers.

In July 2002 Wheels scored a magnificent 143 against North Middlesex 3rd team as our thirds chased 350+ to win a MCCL league game. He lists this as his top achievement along with with winning eight Middlesex trophies between 1991 and 1998 with our junior sides.

His best cricket experience was playing with eight members of the 2005 Australia touring side. Wheels batted with Simon Katich making four. He also kept wicket to Brett Lee, Michael Kasporwicz, Glenn McGrath and his idol Shane Warne.

He also played at Lords in 2011 representing his work team - Sky Sports Football Department against a NPower Select XI. He scored a brisky 19 in a comfortable win.
