Role: Right Handed Middle Order Batsman and Fast Bowler
Nickname: IB & Drummond
Barbarians No: 1
Without a doubt IB is the most talented cricketer who the club have produced in the last 10-15 years. He is a genuine match winner with both bat and ball and is also an excellent all round fielder. As a batsman he scores runs extremely quickly all round the ground off both front and back foot and he is especially brutal against spin bowling.
As a swing bowler he bowls at genuine pace moving the ball away from right handers. He also has a good slower ball and delivers an excellent bouncer.
A scorer of big hundreds his stand out performances have been a brilliant 165 against Highgate in a Middlesex League game a few seasons ago and also a brilliant 125 against the MCC during our Centenary celebrations in 2008.His best bowling figures for the Borough was 8-72.
In 2012 he had a decent season with the bat averaging just under 30 with three 50s but it was with the ball that he really stood out. He took the most wickets at the club (37) and recorded two 5-wicket hauls including an outstanding 6-46 at Crouch End in July.
As well as representing Bessborough, IB played for Middlesex junior sides as well as the Middlesex Young Cricketers. IB also lived in Tasmania and had 3 seasons playing for Kingborough in Tasmania.
