Plucky left hander Alex ‘Ronnie’ Irani has been named Bessboroughcc.com Player of the Month for July 2013. Ronnie averaged over 50 in July, scoring 253 runs with two fifties and a best of 71 on his final game of the month for our first eleven in their draw v Osterley.
The only batsman to score more runs that Ronnie in July was talented youngster Fateh Singh who scored 256 runs with a club record score of 223 against Darji in a Sunday friendly. Other good performances with the bat in July were Tharshan Kanagaraj and Danny Hawes who both scored 164 runs in July.
In the bowling department, young seamer Ravi Vyas was the leading wicket taker picking up 14 victims with a best of 4-12 at an average of 12.46 with a strike rate of 19.15.
Twenty20 seamer Ian Ridley picked up the second most wickets in July with 11 victims in the midweek Barbarians side.
Congratulations to Ronnie, on an excellent July and a very consistent season. Hopefully the final few weeks will prove as fruitful.
