Peter Doole profile

  • Role: Left Handed Middle Order Batsman & Wicket-Keeper
    Nickname: Dooley
    Barbarians No: 66

Dooley is the club’s senior pro and longest serving player after joining the Borough as colt in the 1960s. 2020 was his 53nd consecutive playing season. He has served the club with great distinction as a wicket-keeper for our first three elevens (keeping in all 5 Mayor of Harrow wins) and served many roles for the club off the field including Chairman, Colts Chairman, Bar Chairman and Treasurer.

He has been a stand out glove man for the Borough in the last 35 years and set a standard that all Borough keepers have had to aspire too. His class is shown by ability standing up to the wickets and he still takes some blinding catches and stumpings for the third team and Middlesex Over 60's.

As a batsman Dooley is particularly strong off the back foot especially behind point through offside. He has scored runs for Borough mainly in the middle to lower order but in recent seasons has batted even higher for the third eleven. Dooley is a character both on and off field, his cheeky wit and banter on the field with his trademark panama and his story telling and jokes off the field make him a true Borough legend.
