Nick Wale profile

  • Role: Right Handed Middle Order Batsman and Off Break Bowler
    Nickname: Waley & The Wale

Waley makes a return to the Borough in 2012 by committing to play some Twenty20 games for the newly created ‘Barbarians’ side. Nick grew up playing his cricket alongside the Wheeler brothers and Paul Jarvis in the club’s successful colts system. Waley was captain of the colts sides from U10 to U17 and he led the side to numerous Middlesex Cup Victories and his side missed out on reaching the National Finals by 1 ball. He also captained Middlesex up to the age of 17.

He is a classy middle order batsman who has got shots all around the ground. He has been back at the Borough in recent seasons playing for a Club Legends XI and also Headstone Rangers XI and he always tends to score runs and look good at the wicket.

As a spin bowler, he was a mainstay in our first and second eleven attacks who was often thrown the ball in front of more senior bowlers. He was a very good off spin bowler who bowled an excellent arm ball. His best bowling for the club was 6-34 against Burnham as 15-year old in 1997.

Needless to say, Waley is also an excellent all round fielder.
