BOROUGH BOWLING IN 2012
By James Wheeler

Website Editor and professional stats man James Wheeler in a three part series takes a look at our leading performers in 2012. In his final part, Wheels takes a look at how we have performed in the field.

First team quickie Ian Barrie (above) is our leading wicket-taker this season with 36 victims in 2012. IB has lead our first team attack superbly this summer, bowling some devastating spells of bowling for his captain, Danny Hawes. His best spells this season was his 5-40 against Osterley in June at Headstone Manor as we bowled out our opponents for 90 odd and his brilliant 6-46 spell away at Crouch End in July which helped win our first eleven a game they had no right to win.

Just 2 wickets behind him is our first team spinner, Rohan Karkhanis. Our left arm tweaker has claimed 34 wickets this season and he has bowled some excellent spells holding up an end for our first eleven, He has bowled the second most overs this season and delivered the most maidens. He has had 4-wicket hauls on 3 occasions this summer and picked up his first 5-wicket haul in our final league game of the summer bowling out Middlesex Tamils with a spell of 5-23.

Other honourable mentions this season go to spinner Mitesh Vyas. His 28 wickets have been spread across our first two sides and he also played a major part in our U17 side winning the County Cup.

Mark Emanuel in his debut season with the club, who as well as staring with the bat has had some memorable efforts with the ball including a brilliant 7-30 spell for our second eleven at Ickenham.

Young seamers Neal Patel and Jay Chavda have also had very good seasons.
