THOUSAND RUNS FOR HAWES
By James Wheeler

Club captain and opening batsman Danny Hawes has become the first batsman since 2005 to score 1,000 runs in season for the Borough bringing it up in the weekend draw with Perivale Phoenicans at Headstone Manor.

Dan’s innings of 58 on Saturday took his tally to 1,020 making him the first batsman since Carl Hoar in 2005 to pass 1,000 runs. Ironically the closest Danny has gone previously to a 1,000 runs was also in 2005 with him scoring 907 runs at 34, but this summer he was not to be denied.

He has passed 50 on eight occasions this summer, reaching three figures on three occasions including a career best 145 not out against Osterley at the end of May.

Congratulations to Dan from everybody at the club and hopefully he can add to 1,020 runs before the summer has finished.
