BESSBOROUGH AVERAGES 2013
By James Wheeler
Just over a month since the season ended, the full 2013 averages are now available to download through the website. As well as overall averages, all statistics are broken down into each eleven so that all club members can see who they performed at each level.
The outstanding batsman of 2013 was outgoing club captain Danny Hawes (pictured) who scored a mammoth 1099 runs across all competitions. During the season he stuck 3 centuries and 6 half centuries and most impressively scored 692 Saturday League runs.
Other honourable mentions with the bat go to Fateh Singh, Alex Hannif, Phil Bush and Alex Irani who all passed 600 runs for the season. Fateh Singh's run tally included a club record 223 against Darji in a Sunday Friendly in July.
Left Arm Spinner Rohan Karkhanis was our leading wicket-taker picking up 39 victims in the season at an average of 21.44 with season best figures of 5-63 against Old Actonians in April. For the first eleven in the League he picked up 25 victims which was second only to overseas player Alex Haniff who claimed 27 wickets.
Seamers Ravi Vyas and Nirav Ghantiwala were the only other 2 bowlers to get 30+ wickets this season. Jay Chavda and Mitesh Vyas both picked up 20+ wickets and they deserve to be mentioned in the best performers with the ball in 2013.
Danny Hawes was also the leading fielder for the club with 11 catches and the leading wicket-keeper for the summer was veteran Peter Doole who claimed 24 victims which included 14 stumpings.

The whole of the webteam would like to congratulate Mitesh on the deserving award.
