Midweek Cricket Returns to the Borough

MIDWEEK CRICKET RETURNS TO THE BOROUGH
By James Wheeler

This week sees regular midweek cricket return for our senior sides with the start of the Twenty20 season.

On Friday our First Eleven travel to neighours Harrow St Mary's in the first round of Middlesex Twenty20 Knockout competition. In recent seasons we have failed to progress past the first round after a string of difficult ties. Friday will be no different but Club Captain Rohan Karkhanis will be hopeful of repeating the result from the last time our club's met in any senior competition in May 2013 when a century from Danny Hawes led us to victory.

The following week sees the opening Barbarians game of 2014 with James Wheeler's side taking on a strong Bushey side at Headstone Manor. From next week until the first week on August, The Barbarians will be playing at home every Thursday evening against a variety of sides including Northwood Town, Denham and the Sky Sports Football Department. The Barbarians also play a handful of away games on Tuesday evenings.

After an indifferent season of results in 2013, Wheeler will be hopeful of winning more games this season.

All support at our midweek games is very much appreciated and if you are keen on playing rather than spectating, please contact James Wheeler and he will try to accommodate.
