CUPS UPDATE
By James Wheeler

Bessboroughcc.com would like to give everybody an update on our progress in the Knock-Out Cup competitions that dominate our early season fixtures.

This Sunday we play in the opening round of the Royal London Club Championship against Harpenden at Headstone Manor. This is the first round of a National competition and it provides excellent match practise before the start of our League season on May 9th. Harpenden play Premier Division cricket in Hertfordshire and its the first meeting between our clubs since 2012 when I was famously banned from bowling by our umpire Jerry Halfhide for bowling my leg breaks in a dangerous way. Hopefully vice-captain Sherrick Chavda who is in charge as Rohan is away on holiday with have a better bowling attack on show.

The following Sunday (May 3)  we are in action in the second round of the Middlesex Cup as we travel to fellow Middlesex Division 3 side Winchmore Hill. Our win over Kay Plus on the opening Sunday of the season sees us travel to North London. Once again Sherrick Chavda will be in charge as club captain Rohan Karkhanis is away in India.

Finally on May 11th we play in the opening round of the Middlesex Twenty20 competition as we travel to neighbours Wembley. We have had some problems confirming a date and venue as Wembley have a very busy April and May schedule. The winners will play either Ealing or Ickenham at the end of May.

If you would like to be considered for selection for any of these games. Please update your availability on the website as that is how selection is being done this summer.
