Match report Bessborough 2’s returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 3-wicket win over Enfield. Despite a wet outfield upon arrival only 6 overs were lost after some good work from the Enfield super soper!!

Having won the toss returning skipper Phil Bush’s decision to field first seemed to be a mistake at first, with Enfield’s openers starting positively.

However, Rohan Karkhanis was introduced after just 6 overs, and he tied one end down for the remainder of the innings, finishing with 3 for 51 from 21 overs. Enfield finished on 214 for 6 off 48 overs, leaving Borough 46 overs to chase it down.

A positive start was needed and Bush and Parker got the innings off to a flyer with 50 coming up in 8 overs, Parker departed shortly afterwards and Bush (64) was joined by Tharshan Kangaraj, these two proceeded to take the score well past the 100 with Bush playing second fiddle to Kangaraj’s fine stroke play. Bush was eventually dismissed and Kangaraj and the middle order continued to drive the run chase.

Kangaraj was eventually caught going for one shot too many and was out for a superb 67. A flurry of wickets meant it came down to Jay Chavda and Rohan Karkhanis with 10 runs required; three Chavda slaps through mid wicket later and the 2’s were celebrating a great victory.
