BESSBOROUGHCC.COM PLAYER OF THE MONTH - JUNE

Overseas Player Alex Haniff has been named by the web team as the Bessboroughcc.com Player of the Month for June 2013 after outstanding performances which led our first eleven to some important wins. His vital contributions with both bat and ball which saw him pip bowler Jay Chavda and club captain Danny Hawes to the award.
June was an interesting month both on and off the field for the club with some excellent individual and team performances making up for an indifferent time with the weather.
In the bowling department, Jay Chavda led the way picking up 14 wickets at an average of 10.43. His strike-rate was also impressive picking up a wicket every 15 deliveries and his best match haul being 4-25 for our first eleven in their win over S.K.L.P on June 1st. Other standout performances with the ball in June were by Rohan Karkhanis and Rohan Desai who picked up 11 and 10 wickets respectively.
For the third month in a row, Club Captain Danny Hawes led the way with bat scoring more runs than any other batsman with his tally of 216 runs at 43.2 with two fifties and with the best 78 on President’s Day against Graham Sainsbury’s President XI in the final game in June. His tally for the season now stands at 752 runs at an average of 62.67 which includes three hundreds and three half centuries.
Our Player of the Month Alex Haniff scored 195 runs at an average of 97.5 with two fifties and a best score of 85 not out against Old Actonians on June 29 which led our first eleven to a much needed win. His other half century in June was against S.K.L.P when he scored 55 not out and took 4-18 with the ball which was also vital in our first eleven wins. Overall with the ball in June, he picked up 6 wickets at average of 20 and more importantly had an economy rate of only 3.45 which showed how much control he bowled with during June.
