The Season In Stats

OUR SEASON IN STATS
By James Wheeler

I thought with the start of the Ashes today, it would be a good point to review our season in stats and see how all our senior sides are getting on in 2013. Club captain Danny Hawes dominates the batting department with most runs, most hundreds, most fifties and the highest score of the season which was a career best 145 not out v Osterley on May 25. Overseas player Alex Haniff however has the highest average at the Borough currently with an average of 83.00 per innings.

In the bowling department, club vice-captain Rohan Karkhanis has once again dominated like he did last summer leading the way with 29 wickets coming the way of his left arm spin. He has also bowled more overs and more maidens than any other Borough bowler. However, wicket-keeper Wayne Whitson has the best bowling average (2.00), this came in the only 2 balls that he has bowled this season against The President’s XI on June 30. The leading bowler in terms of average with a  qualification of 10 wickets is second team off spin bowler Mark Emanuel who has picked up his 13 wickets at an average of 10.62.

Wicket-keeper Peter Doole is proving that age is no barrier as he has been our leading wicket-keeper in terms of dismissals picking up 14 victims (7 catches, 7 stumpings) and backward point specialist Sanil Shah is our leading outfielder by claiming 7 catches.

In the next few weeks I will take a more detailed look at both how are batting and bowling has gone in 2013
