Bessborough Cricket Club - Ronnie's Ramblings - April 2013

Ladies and Gentleman, brothers of the blue cap, the day we have all been waiting for has returned. Ronnie’s ramblings is back, this week we are doing a pre-season punting pack for the upcoming season!

TOP LEAGUE RUNSCORER
Danny Hawes 2/1
Ian.Barrie 4/1
Phil Bush 6/1
Adil Parker 6/1
Andy Carr 8/1
Mark Emanuel 10/1
Alex Irani 16/1
Steve Kimsey Snr 5000/1

Danny Hawes (pictured right) the stand out league player last year heads up the market this year at a skinny 2/1. Hawes has the capability to bore any fielding side to tears with his ability to block, leave, block, leave (you get the picture) so eventually they decide to bowl rubbish which he puts in his place, fair play.

Mark Emanuel seems a good bet at 10s, scores quickly and will be given a go up the order as Bushy realises both his openers are liabilities. Kimsey in the betting in the hope he does not collar me demanding an explanation as to why he does not feature, I have taken a risk in the fact he will probably claim his price is too long

TOP LEAGUE WICKET TAKER
Rohan Karkhanis 10/11
Mitesh Vyas 3/1
Any Seamer 10/1

Nobody and I mean nobody can play spin in this league. Actually apart from me, but I will not be facing them so it is who is the better of the two spinners. Well I’ve decided it is Chili, Mitesh bowls a rank bad ball to release the pressure so does himself a disservice. I mean the ball is so bad that even Ridley could put it away. Just lump on Chili he will take stacks.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL BUSHEY GET DROPPED?

0-3 5000/1
4-7 1000/1
8-11 66/1
14-17 14/1
18+ 1/3

Young Philip thinks the ground is where you stand, it is there to stop us from floating, he does not realise the value of hitting the ball there as it stops you from getting caught out! Fancy that eh?

So we go odds-on him getting dropped more than 18 times, I counted 37 drops personally last year and I only played 21 games with him, imagine the ones I missed? My nap, a sure fire banker this.

FIELDER OF THE YEAR
Wayne Whitson 3/1
Adil Parker 4/1
Ian Barrie 6/1
Andy Carr 8/1
Alex Irani 12/1
Phil Bush 500/1

Bushy cannot catch a cold in Siberia so we can ignore him straight up, chuck in the fact he does not walk in and sulks is not exactly the greatest combination. It boils down to the battle of the keepers really, which one will drop less? How many batsmen well run past one? How many byes will Adil concede? Wayne’s to lose! Carr a decent outside bet.

WILL I GET BANNED?
No 1/3
Yes 5/1

I have had previous incidents with some panel umpires and Jerald Halfhide our current umpire has never been too impressed by certain antics. I can say I intend to improve my behaviour but I have also intended to get a bird and failed miserably on that front too.

That is all for your punting pack today, for those willing to lay a bet please speak to Salman Butt aka Adil Parker and he will happily facilitate this option, limits may be in place.

Before you ask I have tried to limit the amount of markets involving ‘Asian’ players due to their dealings in dodgy circles.
We underperform the majority of the time we do not need to give them an excuse!
