Trio Return in 2014

TRIO TO RETURN FOR 2014
By James Wheeler
Bessboroughcc.com is pleased to announce that the club has re-signed former captain Sherrick Chavda, all-rounder Ian Barrie and opening batsman Ramesh Gunalan for our 2014 season. The club are targeting promotion from the Middlesex Championship in 2014 and captain Rohan Karkhanis has been given a big boost by the return of these three first team superstars.
Sherrick Chavda Profile
Ian Barrie Profile
Ramesh Gunalan Profile
Sherrick returns to the club after 2 seasons with North Mymms in the Home Counties Premier League. With opening batsman Danny Hawes away for the 2014 season, Shezza will offer some stability at the top of our order as well as offering an attacking spin bowling option. A former club captain, Shezza will also be able to offer our new captaincy team of Karkhanis and Alex Irani plenty of help on and off the field.
Ian ‘IB’ Barrie returns after a 1 season break after opting to play for Clacton in the East Anglia Premier League last season. A hard hitting batsman in the middle order and an attacking quick bowler, IB will bring his much needed aggression back to both our batting and bowling. He is a 3-time First Eleven Player of the season and picked up 37 wickets in the 2012 season for the Borough.
Ramesh ‘Rambo’ Gunalan missed the 2013 season as he spent the summer in the Sri Lanka. Rambo was at nets yesterday evening and he still looks every inch the top quality top order batsman that he is. In the 2 previous seasons with the club he scored 747 runs which included two league hundreds and the sheer pace that he got our innings started was crucial. He is also a more than useful off spin bowler and excellent slip fielder.
These three signings have significantly strengthened our side for the 2014 season, however we are still on the look out for 1 and possibly 2 wicket-keepers to compete for places in our first and second eleven sides. We currently net on Thursday nights at Harrow High School at 9pm. If you would like to come down and try out please contact club captain
Rohan Karkhanis
