Wycombe House v Bessborough Cricket Club 2nd Eleven on Sat 12 May 2012 at 1pm
Bessborough Cricket Club Won by 81 runs (10pts)
Match report
The second eleven were the only Borough side to not fall victim to the weather on Saturday as they travelled to Wycombe House.Having chosen to bat first on a surprisingly dry albeit sticky wicket, Borough made it to 199 for 6 in there 50 overs, thanks mainly to vice-captain Adil Parker's patient 79. He was well supported by Ian Barrie (53) and a few lusty blows from the lower order gave The Borough a very competitive total.
Opening bowlers Nirav Ghantiwala & Rohan Desai reaffirmed that by reducing House to 21 for 3 inside 10 overs. Mitesh Vyas's off spin was then introduced and the clubs 2011 bowler of the year simply picked off where he had left off last year. In two spells he produced figures of 6 for 47 from 11 overs with Wycombe House eventually 118 all out, with only their captain Sid (48) putting up any real resistance.
A good start to the season then for the second’s,and they will look to carry that momentum against Ickenham next weekend.Hopefully our other three Saturday sides can get out on the pitch.
